Duke of Edinburgh Award – Navigation & Expedition Training 🧭

Our students have been busy developing their navigation skills as part of their Duke of Edinburgh Award, beginning with their day walk and orienteering last weekend!

These activities are designed to build confidence in map reading, navigation, and teamwork, preparing students for their final assessed expedition.

We’re incredibly proud of their enthusiasm and commitment as they take on this challenge and develop valuable life skills along the way.

We can’t wait to hear how they get on during their Practice Expedition (6–7 June) and their Assessed Expedition (11–12 July)!

Don't forget this term’s Food & Nutrition House Bake-Off is here, and the theme is ‘On the Beach’!

Open to Years 7–8 and 9–10.

Round 1:
Make 6 cupcakes at home based on the On the Beach theme and send a labelled photo to your Food teacher by Monday 8th June.

Round 2:
4 students from each house will be chosen for an afterschool bake-off on Thursday 18th June where they’ll recreate their designs.

Perfect to have a go at over half term. Think sandcastles, sea creatures, boats, shells, sunshine… ☀️

We can't wait to see your creations!

Huge congratulations to all our students who took part in the Ten Tors Challenge 2026! 🏕️🥾

Taking on the demanding routes across Dartmoor, they showed incredible resilience, teamwork, and determination every step of the way.

We are so proud of their achievement and the spirit they demonstrated throughout this unforgettable experience.

Online grooming is a serious and growing threat, with offenders using a range of tactics to build trust with children and young people before exploiting that relationship.

This can happen across social media, gaming platforms, messaging apps and group chats, often through fake identities, flattery, gifts or pressure.

• Larger blazers (chest size 36+)
• School ties
• Larger trousers and skirts (ages 14–15 and 15–16)
• Black jumpers (larger sizes)
• Shoes in excellent, lightly worn condition (any size)

Please ensure that all donated items are in very good condition.
