Staplegrove Scouts

Bishopsgrove (Bishops Lydeard Scout Group and Staplegrove Scouts) have just returned from another memorable summer camp at Torbay District Scout Campsite. A fantastic site with easy access to Torquay, exceptional sea views and direct access to the South West Coast Path and the secluded Watcombe Beach.

27 Scouts enjoyed a packed week of activities including a sea fishing trip where mackerel were caught and then cooked on a BBQ for Scouts to try, an afternoon at Splashdown Quaywest, a day at Paignton Zoo, two hikes on Dartmoor; one a circular route from Postbridge to Bellever Tor and one to climb Haytor, and three trips to Watcombe Beach, including a BBQ on the final night.

A special thank you to all the leaders from both groups that made it happen. We are already loooking forward to the next Bishopsgrove camp in October for Halloween!

Blackdown Scouts

Thank you to everyone that came along to our Summer Fete yesterday afternoon and supported us, whether this be family and friends of those in the Group, or members of the public. We managed to fill the recreation ground once again with a wide array of stalls, games and activities and hopefully everybody that attended enjoyed themselves!

In the first few years our focus has been on getting the event off the ground, but as we move forward we have lots of ideas for how it can be developed and improved. If you have any feedback or suggestions, please do not hesitate to get in touch.

Not many photographs were taken as the leadership team were all so busy, but these below were taken towards the start of the event and the field did get a lot busier. We are pleased to say it was a successful and profitable afternoon for the Group, so thank you once again.

Our Scouts, together with Bishops Lydeard Scouts (Bishopsgrove) had an amazing time at the Hunted Camp this weekend! Thank you to all the volunteers that put this incredible weekend together 😀
