Fantastic work 👏🏻👏🏻

Cllr Rob Isaacs and I chaired and vice-chaired Finance and Government last week at Taunton Town Council

This was a super busy meeting, looking at policies as well as discussing the fantastic use of our park by Taunton Indians Cricket Team.

The finance and governance meeting also look at all the payments that the town council has made and can see line by line, demonstrating the transparency of where your money is spent.

I followed this up with the team this morning further to Mike Rigby and Cllr Amber Packer-Hughes reporting over the weekend.

Statement from Gideon Amos - MP for Taunton & Wellington ahead of the protest on Saturday.

Statement: Convicted criminal invited to protest in Taunton

Outsiders who come to divide our community are not welcome.

Especially not a convicted criminal who the BBC has reported admitted to assaulting two women.

While the right to peaceful protest must of course be upheld, here in Taunton we have hugely benefited from those who have built a home here, often at our invitation, to staff and support our NHS, to be care workers for our loved ones and to help our small businesses.

Those who seek to divide us should turn tail and go elsewhere. There is no place here for fear or division.

Our community is stronger than that.

Yesterday, we had some very exciting news 🎉

Huge congratulations as 8 local parks have been awarded the prestigious Green Flag Award – 4 in Taunton and 4 in Wellington 🥳

Well done to Taunton Town Council, Wellington Town Council, and the dedicated community groups who work tirelessly to maintain our green spaces to such a high standard 👏

Gideon Amos - MP for Taunton & Wellington has responded to the shocking maternity and neonatal report, which has revealed the poor state of Musgrove Park Hospital and the Maternity Unit, which requires urgent attention.

Leaking roofs, poor temperature control, it's just not acceptable, and Gideon is right to push back that waiting until 2033 for a new maternity unit is far too late.
