🚨 The UK is woefully unprepared for the climate crisis. 🚨

​Following the Climate Change Committee’s latest progress report, the Liberal Democrats are warning that continuous underinvestment in climate-resilient infrastructure is actively threatening our national and economic security.

​From spiraling bills at the pump to immediate risks to British farming, global warming isn't a future problem—it's already on our doorstep.

​Our Energy Security and Net Zero Spokesperson, Pippa Heylings MP, hit back at political rivals burying their heads in the sand:
​“Badenoch and Farage utterly dismiss the scale of this challenge, yet if they actually spoke to farmers or coastal communities, they'd know that we are already feeling the impacts of climate change on our doorstep.”

​The Liberal Democrats are demanding a bold approach to protect our communities and protect our way of life:
✅ A legally binding Good Food Bill to secure domestic food production and lower household food insecurity.
✅ Upgrading infrastructure to handle extreme heatwaves routinely exceeding 40°C.
✅ Restoring the international aid budget to help developing nations hit the UN's Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for climate action and zero hunger.
✅ Reaching 90% renewable electricity generation by 2030.

Fantastic work team - especially in this heat 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

It was a hot and beautiful day yesterday ☀️

I spent the afternoon along helping and &wellingtonlibdems deliver updates in Taunton East.

Along with my two little helpers we delivered around 300 leaflets but also have picked up a variety of issues we came across on the Lambrook Estate that I have logged or in the process of doing so.

- Flytipping
- Potholes
- A whole family of rogue supermarket trollies
- Streetlight on the day
- Overgrown vegetation
