8 changes have been implemented to the Highway Code since 2022.

One of the changes is outlined below;

When travelling at up to 30 mph, leave at least 1.5 metres (5 feet) when overtaking people cycling and give them more space when overtaking at higher speeds.

Dial-a-Ride offers a door-to-door service for eligible Telford and Wrekin residents who cannot access conventional public transport due to limited mobility. The service is available between 9.30am- 4pm Mondays to Fridays.

Fare information:
โ€ข ยฃ2 single fare
โ€ข Carers/ companions can travel for free but must be pre-registered.
โ€ข Concessionary passes are not valid on this service

Please note: we are not able to transport mobility scooters for safety reasons.

All trips must be pre booked 24 hours in advance by phoning 01952 384545 between 9am and 3pm Monday โ€“ Friday.

On demand is an exclusive app to Telford that allows you to book your journey on the day or ahead of time from specific areas to designated travel zones.

Don't worry if you don't live near a physical bus stop, the app will create virtual bus stops for you to wait pending the buses arrival.

Travelling times range from 8am-5:30pm Monday to Friday.

โ€ผ๏ธT&W School Travel Assistance / 30th June Deadlineโ€ผ๏ธ

Telford and Wrekin School Travel Assistance Programme is a Home to Education transport arrangement for eligible children and young people who require support for travelling to and from education only.

There are specific eligibility requirements to be able to be awarded the travel assistance, please check on the website and note that it is assessed on a case-by-case basis based on the eligibility criteria. https://www.telford.gov.uk/roadworks-transport-and-streets/travel-telford/travelling-to-school/school-travel-assistance/

For applications made for young people without an Education Health and Care Plan, a bus pass will be offered in line with policy. Please see the School Travel Assistance Policy for further
information on the website.๐ŸšŽ

If you are applying for travel assistance for the next academic year, all applications must be received by the council by 30th June. Applications received after this date cannot guarantee that travel training/assistance will be in place for the start of the new term.

*Please be aware that it can take up to 20 working days for a decision to be made on eligibility.*
