Congratulations to our colleagues at North Shropshire Conservatives for gaining Cabin ward of Oswestry Town Council from the Lib Dems.

The Lib Dems are riven with infighting in Oswestry and that is spreading throughout the north of the county. They believed their own hype and reality has left them disillusioned and pointing the finger of blame at each other.

Well done Cllr Les Maguire on your well deserved win and we're sure you will do what is best for your residents to protect them from the dysfunction of the town council.

The Lib Dems were left with a balanced budget by the Conservatives. Within a year they had cut services and asked the government for a bailout. It's only August and they're already prepping us for more bad news.

They said their plan was to bankrupt the council before they were even elected and all the signs point to it still being their plan, no matter how much they say they've changed their minds.

The Leader of Shropshire Council has warned that maintaining the status quo is no longer an option as the authority prepares to tackle the largest financial challenges in its history.

When Labour's family farm tax has forced families to sell up to factory farming corporations this sort of thing will become increasingly rare. Shareholders don't care about the countryside, risking £100k of farm machinery stopping a fire on someone else's farm is more likely to get someone the sack than a pat on the back.
