🔴 RED HEAT HEALTH ALERT
A Red Heat Health Alert has been issued for the West Midlands from 1AM Wednesday 24 June until 11PM Thursday 25 June 2026.
We want our residents to enjoy the sunshine safely, so please take a moment to check on those who may be more at risk during this period of hot weather - older relatives or neighbours, young children and babies, and anyone living with a long-term health condition.

💧 Keep hydrated while you're out and about. There are free water refill points across the Borough. Find your nearest using the REFILL app: https://orlo.uk/73lsn
🎟️ Joining an event? Remember to bring water, use sunscreen, take shade breaks, and look out for others.
🌊 Avoid swimming in open water. Please think twice before getting into a river, canal or open water to cool down. Open water across Telford and Wrekin is still much colder than it feels outside, and cold water shock is a real risk even in hot weather. Read the RNLI's safety advice here: https://www.rlss.org.uk/
Please share this post with anyone in your life who might be vulnerable to the heat. Let's all look out for each other and enjoy the warm weather safely. ☀️
Since 1891 Royal Life Saving Society UK has been sharing our expertise in water safety, lifesaving, and lifeguarding to educate everyone to enjoy water safely.
