📢 Update on the Future of Local Government in Gloucestershire!

☑️The Government has announced that Gloucestershire will be reorganised into one unitary authority serving the whole of Gloucestershire from 1 April 2028.

☑️This means Gloucestershire’s current district, borough & county councils will be replaced with one council.

☑️ We want to reassure residents that nothing will change overnight. The services you rely on will continue to be delivered as usual, with no immediate changes to how you access them.

☑️ The move forms part of a national review of local government arrangements, aimed at simplifying services, improving efficiency & providing long-term stability for local communities.

☑️ Detailed planning is still underway & councils across Gloucestershire will continue working together collaboratively to agree next steps.

☑️ We are committed to keeping you informed throughout the process & will continue to provide regular updates as plans develop.
