Discover the traditional technique of scything in our Wildflower Meadow at Highgrove πΎ
Father-son duo Nigel and Jonny Adams, along with a team from the British Scything Association, have joined us for another year to cut the meadow using traditional scythes πΌ
Using this traditional rural technique in late summer gives bees and other pollinators plenty of time to benefit from the wildflowers and helps preserve the meadow's biodiversity in future, allowing seeds to spread naturally as the grass is gathered.
At The King's Foundation, we are passionate about reviving traditional skills that are sustainable and help benefit the natural environment π
