The Great Big Green Week is the UK’s largest celebration of community action to tackle climate change and protect nature.

Running from 6th – 14th June this year (although events planned in and near Thame extend beyond these dates), GBGW brings together people from all walks of life to show how small local actions can make a big difference for the planet. Across the country, communities host events such as litter picks, tree planting, clothes swaps, repair cafés, and educational workshops, all aimed at promoting sustainability and inspiring change.

Visit Thame Green Living’s website (https://thamegreenliving.org.uk/tgl-project/great-big-green-week/) for details on how you can get involved locally.

Access will be maintained for emergency service vehicles and for those frontages within the closure area, subject to the progress of the works and liaison with the works supervisor.

Please view the map supplied by Oxfordshire County Council for closure and diversion details.

Following the closure of Lloyds Bank in Thame in February 2025, we would like to know how you think ATMs (cashpoints) and Post Office services have operated. By filling out this short survey, we hope to use your experiences as new evidence that Thame still needs a Banking Hub. The survey will close on Tuesday 30 June. Paper surveys are also available in the Information Centre. Click below to access the survey.

We’re proud to support A-level students from Lord Williams’s Secondary School as they carry out their Geography NEAs this year.

An NEA (Non-Examined Assessment) is an important piece of independent fieldwork and research that forms 20% of their grade, giving students the opportunity to investigate real-world issues and collect data within the local community.

Below you will find links to several questionnaires, each one created by a different student to assist their research, and all focused on an aspect of life in Thame. We are asking as many residents as possible to actively support them by taking a few moments to answer these short surveys.

Every response plays a valuable role in helping the students involved develop vital research, communication, and analytical skills while gaining a deeper understanding of our town.
