Update re Station Road, Thirsk
North Yorkshire Council has advised as follows regarding works on Station Road at the front of Tesco Filling Station:
‘Just a quick email to confirm the arrangements for the planned work to the road at the front of Tesco Filling Station. The road will be closed from 19.00 on Sunday 11th January and is anticipated to be fully closed for a period of 1 week. Advance warning signage has been deployed on site to notify the travelling public of the forthcoming closure and we have directly communicated with the emergency services. I will be arranging for some social media posts to go out over the next few days to try and raise awareness of the potential disruption’.

AQ Logistics
Can you believe that Christmas is only six weeks away? Preparations have to start in good time and this morning the Christmas tree in the Market Place was put up, ready for the lights to be put on during the next week or so. The Town Council would like to thank everyone who helped, in particular Rob Macaulay and his team at AQ Logistics who, once again, very generously collected the tree and helped to manoeuvre it into position, all free of charge. Thanks also to the Town Councillors and everyone else who helped this morning, and to Ross and the team at Steven Dresser's who do a great job installing all the lights. Thirsk will soon be sparkling brightly for the festive season.
