Image Released Following Criminal Damage Incident in Thornaby

Officers are releasing an image of a man they would like to speak to in connection with a vehicle which was damaged outside of Sainsbury’s on Thorntree Road in Thornaby.

The incident occurred on Sunday 27th November at 2:30pm when a male on a quad bike was reportedly driving dangerously on the road and pavement.

The male then reportedly caused damage to a vehicle parked outside of Sainsbury’s.

Anyone with information regarding the identity the male is asked to contact Cleveland Police on the non-emergency number 101 quoting 214260.

Thornaby Neighbourhood Police Team officers have seized another uninsured car.

This one (pictured) was recovered this afternoon from Shetland Avenue for having no insurance, and the driver was reported for summons.

We’ll continue to take proactive steps to remove illegal or undocumented cars, vans, motorbikes and quads from our roads, as well as those suspected of being used in criminality or anti-social behaviour.

A National Moment of Reflection will take place at 8pm today (Sunday 18th September) to mourn the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and reflect on her life and legacy.

The public are invited to take part in a minute's silence to mark this Moment of Reflection.

The silence can be marked privately at home, with friends and family, out on doorsteps or the street with neighbours, or at locally arranged community events and vigils.

Appeal following theft of distinctive bikes, Thornaby

Detectives are appealing for information after a high value bike and tricycle (pictured) were stolen during a burglary in Redcar Road, Thornaby.

It happened in the early hours of yesterday (between 00.15am and 05.30am on Sunday 21st August) and a red Raleigh bike with a small basket attached to the front, and a Tagg tricycle with a silver frame, two wheels and a large red seat at the front, one wheel at the back, and a black saddle were taken.

Neighbourhood officers recovered this Mercedes in Beechwood Road on Friday afternoon - shortly after police had received calls from the public about it being driven around Thornaby by young people.

While waiting for the car to be recovered, other youths rode by on what was later identified as a moped which had been stolen from the Stockton area.

After a brief foot pursuit, officers seized the moped where it had been abandoned.

Enquiries are on-going.
