Pothole Update – Gossips Wood Road, Bridge Lane Rawcliffe Bridge, Station Road Rawcliffe.

Our Chair contacted East Riding Council today regarding the potholes along Gossips Wood Road, Station Road and Bridge Lane

They have now recorded 20 potholes in total on Gossips Wood Road. An engineer has attended site and carried out a full inspection, and due to the severity of the defects the road has been placed onto a 28-day priority repair list. This has been an ongoing issue since October and we have been working with residents to understand their issues. The length of time this has taken to resolve is due to ownership of the road and who is responsible for the repairs. Highways have now taken responsibility.

All repair works are scheduled to be completed by 4 March 2026.

Bridge Lane and Station Road.
I have been notified today by the East Riding that the pothole on station Road has been repaired. However through resident contact and social media, this may seem not to be the case.
Please can you continually report these issues to the East Riding council using their website.
The East Riding have also several reports with regards to Bridge Lane, an Engineer has been sent out to assess the job and works should be taking place soon.

Thank you to everyone who reported the issues — please continue to flag any further defects so they can be addressed.

Today, Rawcliffe Parish Council joins communities across the country in recognising Holocaust Memorial Day.

We remember the six million Jewish men, women and children murdered in the Holocaust, alongside the millions of others who were persecuted and killed under N**i persecution.

Holocaust Memorial Day is a time to reflect on the consequences of hatred, prejudice and discrimination, and to reaffirm our commitment to stand up against antisemitism, racism and all forms of intolerance.

We remember the victims, honour the survivors, and commit to learning from the past to build a more compassionate and inclusive future for all.

All equipment at Rawcliffe Bridge Play Park has now been repaired by our contractor, with the exception of the seat on the large swing. Unfortunately, this was damaged after the last inspection and before the contractor attended to fix the previously reported issues.

If you notice any further damage or broken equipment, please report it directly via the Rawcliffe Parish Council page or contact the Clerk at [email protected].

Thank you for your cooperation.

RAWCLIFFE PARISH COUNCIL – PUBLIC NOTICE

Excessive Dog Fouling in the Villages

Rawcliffe Parish Council has received an increasing number of complaints regarding dog fouling on pavements, verges, footpaths, and public open spaces across the villages.

Dog fouling is unpleasant, unhygienic, and presents a health risk—particularly to children and vulnerable residents. It also creates an unnecessary burden on those who maintain our shared spaces.

The Parish Council reminds all dog owners that it is a legal requirement to clean up after your dog and to dispose of dog waste responsibly in a suitable bin.

Residents are encouraged to report incidents of dog fouling or irresponsible dog ownership directly to the Dog Warden, who has the authority to investigate and issue fines where appropriate.

Reporting helps target problem areas and supports enforcement action.

Let us all work together to keep our villages clean, safe, and welcoming for everyone.

Thank you for your cooperation.
