Event #418 30/08/2026

As the wonderful volunteers arrived for the event, the weather was looking a bit grim.

The RD confidently informed everyone we would be OK as the rain would arrive at 10:00.

It was therefore ironic that the heavens opened during his brief.
Well done to everyone who sheltered under the trees.

Fortunately the rain stopped before the wristbands were handed out.
Congratulations to Theo, Barney and
Jack who collected their 50 wristbands and to Amelie and Mason who collected their 25 wristbands.
Well done everyone.

Following Imogen and Amelie's fabulous warmup, 140 junior superstars tackled the slightly soggy course.

32 runners thrived in the conditions and achieved a Personal Best. Congratulations to you all.

Despite the iffy weather we welcomed 17 first timers to our event including 7 juniors running their first ever junior parkrun.
We hope you will come back again soon.

Finally a big thank you to all our fabulous volunteers, who made the event possible, including a special helper "Big Ted".

A big shout out to Michelle Vick who volunteered for the 250th time, and to Thomas Southby who volunteered for the 50th time.

🌳🏃‍♀️ Moors Valley junior parkrun #417 – 23/08/2026 🏃‍♂️🌳

What a cracking morning at Moors Valley! ☀️ The sun was shining, the hi-vis heroes were out in force, and 134 brilliant juniors made their way around the course. 👏

There were 31 PBs to celebrate – fantastic running! 🏆
And a big welcome to our 25 first timers. We hope you enjoyed your first taste of junior parkrun and will be back for more!

A special welcome to the 6 runners taking part in junior parkrun for the very first time – Leo, Ciaran, Harry, Forrest, Oliver and Arthur.

🌳🏃‍♀️ Moors Valley junior parkrun #416 – Sunday 16th August 🏃‍♂️🌳

Another Sunday, another brilliant morning at Moors Valley! 🙌

114 juniors made their way around the course, cheered on by 27 fantastic hi-vis heroes. 💛

There was plenty to celebrate:

Moors Valley junior parkrun #415 – 9th August 2026 💚🏃‍♂️

Another warm and sunny Sunday, another chance to unleash 126 young parkrunners around Moors Valley! 🌳🏃‍♀️

We had 126 finishers, with 24 PBs — clearly quite a few of you had found an extra gear this morning! 🚀👏

A big welcome to our 23 first timers, including 14 who were taking part in their very first junior parkrun.

Apologies for the technical difficulties at the start. Someone in the core team forgot to charge the speaker.
No names, but you can probably guess who😀

🎉 Huge congratulations to Lily and Todd who collected their 10 junior parkruns wristbands. Well done to the pair of you.

And congratulations to our volunteering superstars:
👏 Natalie Phillipson – 25 volunteer occasions!
👏 Jude Mellor-Young - 75 volunteer occasions!
👏 Erica – a fantastic 250 volunteer occasions!

A special shout-out too to Alex on completing his first volunteer role.
Apparently he just turned up with his family for a breakfast in the local cafe, but got talked into helping us while his sister ran.

We said goodbye to Olivia, who ran her last junior parkrun before turning 15.
She has run with us 87 times out of a total of 92 junior parkruns.

Moors Valley junior parkrun #414 – 2 August 2026 🌳

What a way to spend a Sunday morning! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

165 junior parkrunners made their way around the course this week, helped along by a fantastic team of 30 hi-vis heroes. 💛
There were an impressive 36 PBs — clearly someone forgot to tell tnem that Sunday mornings are for taking it easy! 😜

We also welcomed 42 first timers, including 10 juniors taking part in their very first junior parkrun.

☀️ Moors Valley junior parkrun #413 🌦️

Who ordered the weather this week?! Another warm and sunny Sunday, with just enough rain before the start to make everyone think, "Ah, that's nice"... before the sun promptly returned to remind us it was still summer!

A brilliant 165 junior parkrunners joined us this morning, with 26 fantastic PBs proving that breakfast tastes even better after running really fast!
We also welcomed 31 first timers to Moors Valley, including 15 children taking part in their very first junior parkrun.

A huge Moors Valley welcome to Alex, Emma, Sophia, Harvey, Evie, Ralph, Callie, Jake, April, Ruairi, Ella, Nina, Charlie, Elliot and Molly. We hope you loved it... don't worry, Sunday mornings will never be the same again! 😊

Our superstar wristband recipients this week were:

🎉 25 runs – Freddie
🔟 10 runs – Nolan and Tobias

Moors Valley junior parkrun #412

What a beautiful Sunday morning for Moors Valley junior parkrun #412!
The sunshine was out, the course was looking great, and we were joined by an amazing 144 juniors for their weekly 2k adventure.

A huge well done to everyone who took part, especially the 29 runners who achieved shiny new PBs!
We were also delighted to welcome 20 first timers, including 19 children completing their very first junior parkrun. We hope you had a brilliant time and that it's the first of many visits!

There was lots to celebrate this week. Massive congratulations to Jenny on reaching the incredible milestone of 250 volunteer credits. Thank you for everything you do —and for the delicious cakes that helped us celebrate! 🎂

Congratulations too to Ted, who reached his 50th volunteer milestone. Thank you for giving up your time to help us out.

We also got to wish some of our juniors a very happy birthday. Happy Birthday to Milo (5), Jude (7) and Iris (13)—we hope you all had a fantastic day!

This week was extra special as our brand new milestone wristbands made their debut! As well as recognising participation, they now celebrate volunteering too, with milestones at 10, 25, 50, 75, 100, 150, 200, 250 and 300.

Big news 🎉 We have new junior parkrun milestones with more moments to celebrate! Our free milestone wristbands have had an upgrade and now include new volunteer milestone wristbands for children aged 4-14.
There is also an exciting new range of junior parkrun milestone T-shirts available to buy from the parkrun Shop, designed with our junior parkrun community.

What a beautiful warm and sunny morning for parkrun! We welcomed 70 finishers across the line today.

🏃 Congratulations to the 8 runners who achieved a new PB – fantastic running! We also welcomed 8 first timers, including 5 people taking part in their very first parkrun. We hope you enjoyed it and look forward to seeing you again soon.
