Arson incidents now getting out of hand. Somewhere some of the current generation of youth are broken, psychologically unstable and need locking up when as in this incident they put people's property and lives at risk by lighting fires at the rear of the canal which quickly spread out of control. Some time back I interviewed someone from WMFS about a scheme called the fire counselling service, which aimed to prevent youths at risk of doing this. The funding was being cut by the then government, but it would be interesting to find out what exists today and if more should be done to prevent arson. Would also like to pay tribute to Dan Ray, a tireless community champion who was knocking people's doors and trying to make people safe. He has helped us out before trying to rescue a bird. Some things do bring out the best in people.

Unfortunately, due to a continued campaign of harassment which is a personal vendetta against the friends of sheepwash and is now a police matter, I need to clarify that no one connected to the friends of sheepwash is or ever has been the admin of the page spotted Tipton. The same individual who lives on the Denbigh estate, who uses several fake profiles has persisted in making malicious smears, lies and fabricated statements about members of the friends of sheepwash over many months, and calls you a coward when she is blocked and when others have challenged her "picking on a "disabled" woman". It cannot and will not continue.

Events of today. Multiple fires, arson, once again as a result of moronic decisions from parks/grounds maintenance to mow whole areas and leave tinder dry material behind. This has been raised again with the ward councillors and someone needs to answer for this.
They have not created "fire breaks" they have created fire bridges. Fire service again cut through the locks to gain entry. What the council officers do not appear to understand is that crews come here from all over the area. One from Fallings Park, the other from Handsworth, this is not Trumpton FFS.
The arsonists. Two kids on electric scooters. One with blonde hair aged about 12, possibly referred to as "Ollie". The other smaller with dark hair aged about 10. The ones a few years ago doing this were followed off site and arrested, and these will be again if seen on here, and that is no idle threat, and nor is it that their faces will be posted on here.

Just to confirm as someone likes to keep making false and defamatory accusations, The Friends of Sheepwash had NO involvement with the corporate volunteer day with Highways England organised by Sandwell Council who decided that they would cut down the hawthorne hedge near the main entrance. It is still there because SMBC have failed to remove it. All above can be confirmed with Sunnish Patel, greenspace manager projects lead.

Obviously aware of the arson attacks in the last couple of days and any info should be passed to the police. Have now made a formal complaint however to WMFS who for the third time cut a mechanism that made securing the site impossible, when SMBC have repeatedly claimed they have given WMFS keys to the site. It is clear that there is no communication between council officers and WMFS whatever they claim through their safer six nonsense. Thanks to Cllrs Edge and Webb last night for their help.
