♻Your recycling and waste service is changing♻

Changes to collection days and calendars
From 1 June 2026, your recycling and waste collection arrangements will change. All households will receive a new calendar, and many residents will have a different collection day. Some homes may also move to a different collection week, so it is important you check your new calendar from 25 May.

Moving from bags to wheeled bins
At the same time, we are starting a staged rollout of a new recycling and waste service. Most homes that currently use bags will move to wheeled bins for recycling and non recyclable waste. This will happen in stages, with full rollout planned by March 2027.

📢 Join the New Tiptree Community Speed Watch Group! 🚗

Tiptree Parish Council is pleased to support the launch of a new Community Speed Watch group in the village — and they are looking for volunteers to get involved.

This is a great opportunity to help make our roads safer by monitoring vehicle speeds in local areas and raising awareness of road safety within the community.

👥 Volunteers needed!

No previous experience necessary — full training will be provided, and sessions are carried out in small, friendly groups.
💡 By taking part, you’ll be helping to:
• Improve road safety in Tiptree
• Support safer streets for residents, pedestrians, and children
• Work alongside your local community and parish council
If you are interested in volunteering or would like more information, please get in touch with the Community speed watch team.

Let’s work together to keep Tiptree’s roads safe. 🚦

📢 Traffic Survey in Tiptree This Week

Please be aware that a PV2 survey is taking place this week at the Duck Pond.
This survey helps assess traffic levels and pedestrian movements crossing the road. The data collected may support a future case for a pedestrian crossing.

Thank you for your awareness and cooperation.

📢♻️Colchester City Council’s Saturday Household Drop-Off Service is ideal for getting rid of small broken or unwanted household items. It will be in our area on 9th May and again on 8th August and the truck parked in Walnut Tree Way, opposite Chestnut Way.

You can take along small, broken or unwanted items that are not collected at the kerbside.

Items that you can’t take along include:
· items that can be recycled
· upholstered seating (no sofas, arm chairs etc)
· large loads, fridges, freezers or other electrical goods
· hazardous waste such as asbestos, batteries, liquids or gas bottles
· business waste
· garden waste

There are many charities that will take second-hand items, for free. Please consider these to give your unwanted items a new home, rather than disposing of them.

More information at https://www.colchester.gov.uk/recycling-and-rubbish/free-household-drop-off-service/

A free Saturday household drop-off service will be available in selected locations on specific Saturdays during the spring and summer months.
