This fully supported 3-month programme offers mentoring, practical guidance, networking opportunities and access to business experts, helping local people across Mid Devon turn ideas into action and businesses into sustainable success.

Participants will receive one-to-one mentoring, regular check-ins, two structured group sessions, access to resident experts, online learning, networking opportunities and 12 visits to Tiverton WorkHub over the three-month programme.

The support will begin by looking at the individual and their current circumstances rather than simply prescribing generic business training. A diagnostic will help identify strengths, pressure points and opportunities across areas including finance, sales, marketing, customers, systems, compliance, people, resilience and business direction.

The focus isn't on generic training. It's about understanding where you are now, identifying what needs attention and connecting you with the right support.

Businesses and organisations in Crediton, Cullompton and Tiverton town centres can now apply for funding to improve and enhance their shopfronts, following the relaunch of Mid Devon District Council’s shopfront grant scheme. The scheme, now known as the Shopfront Refresh Scheme, offers grants of up to £2,500 towards eligible improvement works, up to 70% of eligible project costs.

The grant supports the upgrade, repair, and refurbishment of shopfronts*, helping businesses or organisations show what makes them distinctive while maintaining or improving the historic look and feel of the town centre.

Free adult education opportunities across Devon for 2026/27!

Learn Devon has launched a new programme of adult education courses, with around 200 opportunities to help people across Devon develop skills for work and progress in their careers.

The programme includes courses in English, Maths, Digital Skills, ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages), and Skills and Development, supporting learners to gain qualifications and build confidence for employment. These curriculum areas are designed to meet local workforce needs and support progression into jobs, further training or career change.

Free Support Coming Soon for Devon Businesses
A new, fully funded business support programme is expected to launch in September 2026, helping businesses and aspiring entrepreneurs across Devon to start up, grow, and prosper.

The programme is being commissioned by Devon County Council and partner local authorities, and part-funded through UK Government’s Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) and Devon & Torbay Combined County Authority.

While the delivery provider is being appointed, you can register your interest now on the Growth Hub website and be among the first to be contacted when support becomes available.

Bespoke Business Support
Support is expected to be flexible and practical, combining 1:1 advice, workshops, networking opportunities, and peer-to-peer learning. Potential support topics could include:
• Business Growth and Development,
• Starting a Business,
• Digital and Marketing Support,
• Employment and HR Support,
• Sustainability and Net Zero.
•
Support is available to established businesses and aspiring entrepreneurs in Devon including sole traders, micro businesses, small-and-medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), social enterprises, and community interest companies (CICs).
