New Team Photo!

It’s been a while since we had a new team photo, so we thought it was about time we updated it!

We’ve said goodbye to some familiar faces who have moved on or retired, as well as welcoming some new ones. Not everyone could make it for the photo (the joys of being an on-call crew!), but here’s a snapshot of some of the faces behind Tiverton Fire Station.

On Tuesday 8th Sept Tiverton Crews were able to benefit from an Organised training exercise at The Laurels (Previous Vale Vets Site).
On the Agenda this time… BA (Breathing Apparatus) and firefighting/Rescue Tactics!
We were able to completely smoke out the property with artificial smoke, create noises to simulate alarm systems and put rescue dummies within it. Doing this enables crews and teams to get an ‘As close to real life’ scene under a training environment which is vital to keep those important firefighting skills up!
We treated this exercise as if it was a real incident, being Alerted from the station via Control, turning up, putting the pressure on and getting straight to work without hesitation.
We don’t often get the opportunity with such a brilliant premises so a Massive thank you to Darren at Lawday Construction and the Team at Mid Devon District Council for letting us use it and being so helpful with the process.
Here are a few pictures of this event!

We will remember them

11/09/2026

Today we honour the memory of those who lost their lives 25 years ago on 11 September 2001. We at Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service are honoured to join National September 11 Memorial & Museum in remembrance and share this picture of the sky we all share.

We remember the brave firefighters and emergency service workers who selflessly responded to help those in need.

We will never forget.

A crew from Tiverton were mobilised as part of the relief effort to an incident in East Lulworth (Dorset) yesterday.

The incident involved a barn which contained 2000 bales of hay and a derelict outbuilding.

A big thank you to the other members of the team who were crewing our 2nd appliance & providing operational cover locally.
