๐ŸŒŸ Course Spotlight - Developing Preparedness Arrangements ๐Ÿ”ฆ

When an emergency hits, will your arrangements actually hold up?

Plans that look solid on paper often fall apart when tested against real risks and real capacity. Our Developing Preparedness Arrangements course closes that gap - taking you from defining capabilities based on worst-case risk scenarios through to producing arrangements that are genuinely usable and defensible. Covering everything from documentation and decision controls to how plans get communicated, trained, tested and reviewed.

It's a two-day, residential course (with a short e-learning module beforehand) aimed at anyone developing, reviewing or supporting emergency preparedness, particularly those with duties under the Civil Contingencies Act.

The Emergency Response and Recovery guidance captures lessons learned from emergencies in the UK and around the world, helping organisations strengthen their approach to response and recovery.
It promotes a shared understanding of emergency response and recovery arrangements, clarifies the roles of organisations and partners at all levels, and establishes a common framework and language for effective multi-agency working.

๐ŸŒ Community Resilience: The evolving relationship between communities of geography, and online communities of interest (and influence)

Join Prof. Rowena Hill MBE for this online masterclass exploring:
๐Ÿ“Œ The established evidence base on geographic communities (flood action groups, pandemic hubs, and more)
๐Ÿ“Œ The less-explored territory of online communities of interest - organised around ideas, politics, or movements, sometimes by non-state or state actors
๐Ÿ“Œ What happens when these two worlds collide during a crisis - and what it means for risk and resilience

๐Ÿ—“๏ธ 22nd September 2026
๐Ÿ• 9.30am โ€“ 11am
๐Ÿ’ป Format: Online
๐Ÿ’ท Free to attend

Whether you work in community resilience, emergency planning, or risk management, this session will help you map your practice against the evidence - and think critically about what's still emerging.

What actually happens to your organisation when disruption hits?

Many organisations manage risk and continuity in silos, without a clear view of how governance, culture and interdependencies actually hold up under pressure. Our Building Organisational Resilience course, at Practitioner level, helps you close that gap - applying recognised frameworks (including BS 65000 and ISO 22316) to assess vulnerabilities, learn from real-world disruption scenarios, and design a practical resilience roadmap that brings continuity, risk and governance together.

It's a two-day, residential course (with a short e-learning module beforehand) for anyone in resilience, continuity, risk or operational decision-making roles - including public sector, CNI, and business continuity practitioners - who's ready to move beyond awareness into practitioner-level capability.

๐Ÿ‘ ๐—ฆ๐—ต๐—ฎ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ: Evacuation and Shelter Guidance
This guidance updates the 2006 Evacuation and Shelter Guidance for local emergency planners. It has been produced to help responders develop flexible plans for evacuation and shelter that can be used in a wide range of scenarios.
It reflects the range of options โ€“ immediate dispersal of people, evacuation of properties, shelter in place and longer-term shelter needs. It also shares good practice.
