Students, families and staff at Hayesbrook Academy are celebrating excellent GCSE results this year. Overall, 67% of pupils achieved the benchmark of a 4+ in English and Maths and 42% of pupils achieved 5+ in English and Maths.

Michael Crow, Principal commented “I am absolutely thrilled for our students who have achieved some outstanding results in a year when grade boundaries have risen so significantly. The results are testament to their efforts and we couldn’t be prouder of them!”

With excellent results for the academy there are a number of stand out grades, including 15% of all grades above a grade 7 across a number of subjects. Students who study vocational subjects performed equally well with 49% of pupils achieving at least a distinction in business and 37% in sport. We recognise all of the pupils and their results in this figure.

As ever, we are exceptionally proud of the students of Hayesbrook Academy for their performance in this year’s A level and vocational examinations. Our students are off to pursue a range of exciting university courses, apprenticeships and careers.

Students across the cohort achieved an average of a C grade (including equivalents). Performance in the vocational qualifications was particularly strong with students in the double business BTEC and Cambridge Technical sport achieving an average grade of a Distinction +. 81% of all students sat either an Applied General and/or Technical qualification further highlighting the successes shared across the year group.

We are absolutely delighted for our students. They have worked exceptionally hard over the last two years to achieve some brilliant results and are going on to some very exciting destinations. The students have been an incredible asset to Hayesbrook for the last seven years and we are very proud of the fine young men that they have become!

As always, students are welcome to complete their homework every night after school in our spacious and quiet library!

The Year 7 Sunflower competition has a WINNER! 🌻

In March all students received sunflower seeds. Their job was to plant and nurture the sunflower. We have had lots of amazing pictures from the students with their plants.

🥇First place is Oliver with the tallest sunflower at 214cm
🥈Runner-up is Charlie with a sunflower at 123cm

Not forgetting a very impressive addition from Mr Hines. Well done everyone! 🌻

The last day of term (next Friday), will be our final "Break the Uniform Rules Day" of this academic year🎉 For more details on this, please check your emails from 12/07/23.

We have formed a partnership with www.kidsjustrecycle.co.uk, who redistribute unwanted school uniforms to children of third world, developing and war-torn countries. On the last day of term, we are asking families to donate their old Hayesbrook Academy uniforms, which will be collected from school during the summer holidays. We would be hugely grateful for any and all donations - please just ask your child to bring in any such items (in a black sack) on the last day of term.
