Torbay's Conservative-run Council are disposing of their lease of the land at Barton Downs. The buyer is a mystery at the moment, and there is no word about whether dog walking or just children playing on the land will be allowed.

If you want to share your views about whether the Council should dispose of it, please email [email protected]

The Conservative Administration at Torbay Council have introduced the most expensive memorial bench policy in the country. Liberal Democrats gave them the opportunity to bring in a new policy which they have refused.

Torbay Council have announced they are cancelling September's full Council meeting because there is 'no business.' How can there be no business when we have a housing crisis, the high street is in crisis, and there is a crisis in SEND services for our most vulnerable children?

The Conservative run Council have also blocked Liberal Democrat Councillors from holding them to account at this meeting.

We have heard complaints from many residents about delays to rubbish and recycling collection services.

Staff are obviously working hard in the heat but the management service by the Conservative run Council is poor and they need to get a grip on it!

The deadline for having your say is the 10th of August and you can fill in the form here: https://www.torbay.gov.uk/abbey-gates-junction?emci=532eb197-3f87-f111-b337-000d3a1558ce&emdi=525faf40-6d87-f111-b337-000d3a1558ce&ceid=654148

Residents in the Barton ward have complained about an unsightly bush at the junction of Lindisfarne Way and Cassiobury Way.

The Council have refused to trim it despite having a policy of having a Brighter Bay. Councillor Swithin Long will be challenging the Council about this tonight.

Residents have reported severe traffic congestion, particularly outside Golden Palm Arcade backing up along Cary Parade, after the reconfiguration of roads.

Councillor Mandy Darling is challenging Torbay Council about this this evening.

Footfall in Torquay is down and the antisocial behaviour on Factory Row as well as shops moving out of our high streets are the major culprits.

The Lib Dems did budget for a town centre manager but the Conservative Council put this out of the window and now they have delayed finding someone.

We need a town centre manager to help our town centres as soon as possible.
