This post is so ridiculous.
To suggest Richard Tice was the first to talk about coronary care moving from Torbay to Exeter is nonsense.
His written question, dated 27th January 2025, was: to ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, what plans he has for the future of Torbay Hospital. You can read it here: https://www.theyworkforyou.com/wrans/?id=2025-01-15.24331.h&s=torbay+hospital+speaker%3A26399 .q0
It makes no mention of cardiac care and came after questions about the future of Torbay Hospital from Steve Darling and Caroline Voaden in December and November 2024, respectively.
In fact, NHS Devon revealed its proposed move of cardiac care services out of Torbay weeks AFTER Tice’s question. Unless he has a crystal ball, it is obvious he had no idea about these plans.
It is also not a Labour decision, but one taken independently by NHS Devon. To suggest Labour are behind it shows a total failure to grasp the facts.
To imply that Reform and Reform alone initiated cardiac care services staying in Torbay is to discredit the work of campaigners like The Heart Campaign, concerned patients, cardiologists, and the work of MPs Caroline Voaden, Steve Darling MP, and Martin Wrigley MP for Newton Abbot, who met regularly with NHS leaders and actually called on the government to intervene.
This post is false and should be called out as such.
SHOUT OUT to TORBAY HOSPITAL!😍 Today, one of our members experienced the most extraordinary, first class service from the Endoscopy Department of Torbay Hospital. A heartfelt THANK YOU is the message your patient, one of our members, sends.
DO YOU REMEMBER how Reform Torbay responded immediately to the risk of critical cardiac (heart and stroke) care being transferred away from Torbay to Exeter or Plymouth. Richard Tice of Reform UK raised this first, demanding to know why from Parliament! Despite what the other parties may say, we are confident it was us who initiated saving this essential, life saving service here in Torbay including Brixham. Maybe you were one of the many thousands of recipients of our Torbay constituency Heart Campaign leaflet last summer and our newsletter before Christmas? People we spoke to were shocked to hear the extra travel time to Exeter or Plymouth reduced their chance of survival. Reform cares about protecting services for you.
This Thursday is Brixham's, Furzeham and Summercombe wards opportunity to vote for DARRYL SPARKES who asks you to vote him in on Thursday and then hold him to account in keeping promises he makes once elected🩵 Join the wave of support across the nation, voting Reform for the change this country needs.
