🍏 Gratitude for the First Summer Fruits 🍑
August has brought some of the warmest and driest spells in decades across the Northern Hemisphere. Yet despite the drought, our lands still begin yielding early crops like grains, apples and berries even if in lower quantities. This is a season for gratitude - for the nutrients of the soil, vitally life-giving water, the power of the sun and all of the hands that tend and cultivate our food. The ancient Celtic festival of Lammas, celebrated August 1st, honours these first fruits of the earth and the cycle of life, death and rebirth.
