The Annual Town Meeting was a good opportunity to share an overview of the Town Council's work in the past twelve months, as well as our priorities for the year ahead. 🎆

A true highlight of the evening was the Community Awards, which this year went to Malcolm Curley for his Bridgetown Safari, Philip Younge for Totnes Rough Sleeper Help, Totnes Caring, and Sue Misselbrook for her work with Bridgetown Alive UK, as well as her Bridgetown Community Cafe.

Did you make merry at The Mayors Charity Dance back in our very rainy January? All that dancing helped raise an incredible £1845.32! 🕺

Last week, Mayor Tim Bennet was delighted to present the proceeds to Bridgetown Alive UK, represented by Deborah Oakey, and Stepping Stones Food and Wellbeing, represented by Kit Stevens.

Don't be fooled by the cheques sizes! 😂The total was split equally, with £922.66 going to each organisation. 💗

We’re delighted to announce that Totnes Town Councillor Tim Bennett has been reappointed as Mayor of Totnes for a second term, with Cllr Matt Trant continuing as Deputy Mayor.

The pair were officially elected at the annual meeting of the Town Council on Monday 11th May, which was celebrated during a small ceremony at the Guildhall, attended by local school children, members of the community and Mayors of local towns.

Mayor of Totnes Councillor Bennett said it had been a privilege to serve during his first year as Mayor, giving him an even greater appreciation of the many charities, organisations, and individuals who make Totnes such a positive and vibrant place to live. He also paid tribute to the support of Deputy Mayor Matt Trant and his consort throughout the year.
