⚠️ Road Safety ⚠️

We have recently seen an increase in the number of RTCs we are being called to in our area, with our crew having attended 6️⃣ RTC’s in the past two weeks alone.

Some of these collisions have been serious, but all of them have had the potential to be serious.

We are aware that the situation on the roads around Towcester has become acutely difficult in recent months with congestion, diversions, and potholes, however please do take care and drive safely in the area, especially if you’re using the back roads that may be seeing increased traffic.

Stay safe and always call 999 in an emergency.

It has turned out to be a busy and varied second half of February for our town’s on-call crew, with the following incidents attended:

🏡 AFA Domestic x2
🚗 RTC make vehicles safe
🚗 RTC persons trapped x2
🔥 Kitchen fire, caused by faulty extractor system
🔥 Roof fire, thankfully a false alarm
🔥 Agricultural fire for our water bowser in Grafton Regis

We would also like to say a big well done to our four new recruits, who have now completed all of their training modules and have now gained their “ops” skill, which means they now count towards the availability of our fire appliance.

All four are already making a big difference in ensuring we are available when you need us, making our town a safer place. This would not have been possible without the fantastic response of the Towcester community to our recent recruitment campaigns 🥳 so thank you all.

We have had another busy week responding to 999 calls and making ourselves available to serve the community of Towcester and the surrounding area.

We would also like to say a special congratulations to our four new recruits, who have all passed their BA course and in a few short weeks, will gain their “ops” skill and will make a huge contribution towards the availability of our town’s fire engine. Well done all 🔥

This week we have attended the following shouts:

🏡 AFA Domestic x2
🚗 Road traffic collision
🏭 Fire industrial, Northampton
🌧️ Flooding in domestic property
🔥 Barn fire in Gayton for our Water Bowser

⚠️🌧️ Flooded Roads 🌧️⚠️

The last few days have seen significant rainfall totals in our area, with more expected tomorrow and next week, leading to localised flooding.

Remember, only a few inches of fast moving water is enough to lift a car of its wheels, so don’t take the risk of driving through floodwater.

Always call 999 in an emergency.

In the meantime, our crew have been busy dealing with the following incidents in our area this week:

🏡 AFA Domestic x1
💨 Chlorine gas leak at a swimming pool
🚗 1x car fully involved in fire, A43 Silverstone. BA, hose reel jets and small tools were used to extinguish the fire.

30/01/2026

It has been another busy last few weeks for your local on-call fire station, with our four new recruits progressing with their BA course, and the crew attending the following incidents:

🏡 AFA Domestic x3
💨 Carbon monoxide alarm activation
🚗 Vehicle fire on the A43
🔥 Kitchen fire, 2x BA, one hose reel jet and one main jet used, two cats rescued 🐱
🔥 Large barn fire in Kettering for our Water Bowser
🔥 Fire involving a large storage shipping container for our Water Bowser

Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, the service has had to discontinue its recent recruitment campaign, however those of you who are still interested in joining our team can still register here:

🎉 Happy New Year 🎉

As 2025 draws to a close, we would like to thank our community for all of the support you have given us this year, whilst we reflect on an extremely positive and busy year for our on-call fire station.

This year we attended 2️⃣6️⃣1️⃣ incidents across our area and beyond, and we’ve also been able to grow our crew to 11 firefighters after welcoming four new recruits this autumn, following a fantastic response from the Towcester community to our recruitment appeals.

It has also been a great year for our existing crew, with one of our firefighters passing their BA team leader assessment, another completing their development folder, two of our firefighters passing their BA entry control assessments, and another of our firefighters moving up the ranks to Crew Commander.

Looking for a new challenge in 2026 and want to be part of this growing team and exciting journey? Our next recruitment window will be opening very shortly, keep your eyes open for details and we will keep you updated.
