Towcesterโs friendship with Zhydachiv, a town in western Ukraine near Lviv, remains an important expression of local solidarity. Since the town twinning was established in 2024, the relationship has helped strengthen links between our communities and provide practical support to those affected by the war.
Towcester has welcomed Ukrainian families, and the community, supported by the Tove Benefice and local volunteers, has continued to work with a former Zhydachiv resident now living locally. Together, they have helped organise aid missions and deliver essential medical and humanitarian supplies, including ambulances and vital equipment, with further support continuing as needs arise.
Towcester Town Council, representing its community, stands firmly in solidarity with Ukraine and extends a continuing hand of friendship and support to the people of Zhydachiv and to Ukrainians everywhere.
