High Street Histories No 1 Update.

We have new discoveries at the former pet shop @69 High Street Tranent. Check out this old sign! Do you remember this shop when it was The Fabric Shop? We are looking forward to finding out what's underneath the boarded up part of the shopfront underneath the sign. It featured on our first High Street Histories post. We think it was owned by Mrs Easton who lived in the flat upstairs. If you have any more pictures please do share them with us!

Here's the first post to remind you what we said.

Tranent High Street Histories No 1: 69 High Street
Does anyone remember what happened in this shop before it became Fergusson’s Pet Shop? We have some pictures from the 1980’s where it’s listed as McNaughton’s and we think it was a haberdashery shop. Please do share your stories and pictures about this building as we are keen find out more about it’s history.
We will be posting regular pictures of the some of the high street shops during the lockdown period for you to share your stories from the high street.
