FaunaFriend Wildlife Rescue

FaunaFriend Wildlife Rescue We are a Mother & Daughter team who rescue, rehabilitate, release and teach others about wildlife. Yes it is sad but the animal is relieved of the pain.

We are a Mother and Daughter team who aim to rescue, rehabilitate and release wildlife! Whilst doing this we also aim to educate others with intresting facts and overall wellbeing of wildlife. Our rescue is completley non-profit so we rely on the generosity and kindness of others to help us out. We do take money donations as most people don't know what to buy for our current residents as we take i

n birds as well as hedgehogs, rats, mice and anything else that just needs that little boost before they're released where they were found. If you do wish to donate but don't know how to then please shoot us a message and we will be more than happy to chat! Some of our residents we have in our care over time unfortunately won't be able to be released due to disability sustained by the injury, medical purposes and other things that may creep up overtime. These ones will be our permanent residents who will live out their life in luxury. We are working alongside our local vets to give wildlife the once over before they are released into our care, but sometimes there is the occasion where the animal does have to be put to sleep which means its passing was dignified and respectful and no suffering was had.

We are sorry to have to write this but unfortunately this needs to come to light as it's happened a couple of times now...

We are talking about people being rude in messages and phone calls to the rescue. We do not tolerate this behaviour. We do this for the love of animals and we work a 24 hour day, 365 days a year and always advise the best we can for the animal, this is why we ask a lot of questions when you contact us so we can advise the best course of action.

As it is just myself and mum, yes we are absolutely swamped with Wildlife at the moment as well as trying to find the time to get hedgehogs back home.

We also DO NOT accept 'bribes' of donations to come out and collect an animal and guilt trips because we were unavailable to assist although advice was and will always be given.

A little bit of kindness goes a long way in the rescue world. Kindness costs nothing. That's all we ask is be kind and considerate 😔

This adorable little seagull chick (we call them Dotties as it's cuter! As they have the dots on their head) came in all...

This adorable little seagull chick (we call them Dotties as it's cuter! As they have the dots on their head) came in all the way from Bristol after the lovely Ben Thornton found him and held onto him for a few days before reaching out for help. 6 rescues/vets in the area all told Ben that if this little one was to go in they would be euthanased, no examination or checks just a straight up end to a little life.

But why...? This made us their last hope, the last little glimmer that someone out there did want to help.

This little one has nothing wrong with them, the only issue was that they had fallen from the nest and there were no parents around so Ben went above and beyond to care for this little one and arranged transport to get him to us. A huge heartfelt thank you to PetCabs for travelling from Bristol to Trowbridge to give this little one a chance and because of this they are thriving. And also a huge thank you to Ben for your donation as well 🩵🧡

We are so sorry if we haven't answered any calls at the moment! We are extremely busy and our work phone is acting up to the point we aren't getting notified of incoming calls or text messages which is frustrating. We are working as fast as we can to resolve this issue and can't apologise enough for any inconvenience this has caused.
