Following concerns raised by the community relating to antisocial behaviour and drug use in and around Trowbridge town centre, additional patrols have been conducted by Trowbridge NPT response teams.

On Tuesday 6th October officers on patrol, supported by the Neighbourhood Tasking Team, stopped and searched two people in Trowbridge town park and recovered a large amount of Class A drugs. Subsequently a 26 year old man from Frome was arrested on suspicion of possession of a Class A drug with intent to supply and a 30 year old woman from Frome was arrested on suspicion of possession of a Class A drug.

Both have been released on conditional bail, pending further enquiries.

We encourage residents and visitors to the town to continue reporting information and concerns to us. Information from our communities in invaluable in helping us understand where problems are occurring and take appropriate action.

We will continue to work alongside our communities, local partners and businesses to help keep Trowbridge a safe and enjoyable place to live, work and visit.

Today, PCSO Dentry visited Rainbows Pre-School to help the children learn about people who help us.

The children enjoyed finding out about the role of the police, what to do if they ever get lost, and asked lots of fantastic questions along the way. PCSO Dentry was also given a tour of all the fun activities and adventures the children enjoy at pre-school! 😊

A woman has been charged with a number of offences following a Wiltshire Police investigation.

Olivia Osborne, 37, of Rutland Crescent, Trowbridge, has been charged with theft from a shop, namely TG Jones in Trowbridge, possession of Class A and B drugs, driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence and driving without insurance.

She has been bailed to appear before Salisbury Magistrates’ Court on 4th January 2027.

Trowbridge Neighbourhood Sergeant Charly Chilton said: “I want to reassure the public that we take reports of shoplifting very seriously.

“I encourage any local businesses who are victims to this type of offence to always report it to us so we can investigate and take action.”

Officers investigating the theft of goods from the Trowbridge branch of Tesco believe the person in this CCTV image may be able to help with their enquiries.

The incident took place at about 10am on Thursday 17th September, in which a suspected shoplifter assaulted a member of staff.

He is described as a white man, about 6ft tall with a medium build with tattoos on his legs and his left arm. He was wearing a light blue t-shirt, grey shorts and black trainers.

Last week, officers from our Specials Roads Policing Unit carried out a proactive operation across Trowbridge, Melksham and Bradford on Avon, targeting road crime and the so-called Fatal Five offences that are most likely to contribute to serious collisions.

The operation achieved a number of positive outcomes, including:

✅ 1 stolen vehicle recovered
✅ 4 vehicles seized for offences including no insurance, disqualified driving, dangerous vehicle defects and tax offences
✅ 4 mobile phone offences detected
✅ 1 seatbelt offence detected
✅ 2 speeding offences identified in North Bradley
✅ 1 careless driving offence reported
✅ 2 illegally used vehicle-related items seized
✅ 1 road traffic collision attended (non-injury)
✅ 1 arrest of an out-of-force murder suspect

These results highlight the important role our Special Constables play in keeping communities safe, tackling criminality on our roads, and taking action against those who put other road users at risk.
