But their popularity and high demand mean lots of fakes are now available to buy. And the counterfeit versions may contain harmful levels of dangerous chemicals.

✓ Buy from trusted retailers if you can – fakes may not meet our safety standards
✓ Check for proper labelling – missing safety information is a sign it’s fake
✓ If the toy is damaged, leaking or smells unusual, stop using it
✓ Avoid buying for under 3s - they’re most at risk from dangerous toys.

Did you know, as of May 2026, more than 40,600 scams were taken down across 91,000 websites as a result of reporting to the 7726 service.

➡️By forwarding suspicious messages to 7726, phone providers can investigate where the texts came from and block the number if its malicious.

Yesterday, Wiltshire Trading Standards joined Amesbury Police to visit residents in Westland Close, Virginia Close, Vernon Close, Chesterfield Close and Purvis Close, sharing advice on how to stay safe from rogue traders.

Rogue traders often cold call and pressure people into unnecessary and costly work — from “urgent” driveway repairs to so‑called “free loft insulation surveys.” Staying vigilant is key to protecting yourself and your community.

Top tips to stay safe:
• Don’t engage with cold callers
• Keep an eye out for neighbours having unexpected work done
• Report suspicious activity on 0808 223 1133 or 101

⚠ Product Recall for Maxi-Cosi Family Fix Slide Pro Base.

The product presents a risk of injuries because the indicator, which shows whether the seat is correctly fitted, may display ‘green’ even when the car seat is not fully attached to the base. As a result, a user may believe the seat is properly connected when it is not. This could cause the seat to move or detach, potentially injuring the occupant.
