We are thrilled to have significantly strengthened our Board with the appointment of three new independent Non-Executive Directors: Andrew Abbott, Director of Digital Development for the NHS Cornwall and Isles of Scilly and NHS Devon ICB Cluster; Rob Bosworth, Chief Executive Officer of The Cornwall College Group; and Derek Thomas, Place Director, Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Integrated Care Board.

We’ve spent a fabulous day at the Newlyn Family Fun Day on Gwavas Playing Field with Penzance Council, Healthy Cornwall and other fabulous local partners, meeting local people, running (and having a go) in some great activities and generally having fun! The response to our Physical Activity Clinical Champion (PACC) training for local health and care professionals has been incredible so, together with Active Devon, we’ve arranged a new series of free on-line ‘lunch & learn’ sessions for 2026/27. This includes some focused on mental health, obesity and children and young people, and continues our commitment to helping healthcare professionals embed physical activity into everyday clinical practice.

The training is designed to increase confidence and capability among health and care professionals, enabling meaningful conversations with patients about movement and its role in improving physical and mental wellbeing. Sessions will explore current physical activity guidelines, the evidence behind movement as a preventative and therapeutic intervention, and practical ways to support patients to become more active.

For we're celebrating the theme ‘Play - here, there, everywhere’ by supporting children to enjoy the simple joy of play every day.

As part of our Time2Move Holiday Programme we had a fantastic time visiting Gwealan Tops Adventure Playground, seeing children explore, play, make friends and create lasting memories in such a fun, welcoming environment.

Play doesn't have to be expensive or complicated - it can happen in our parks, playgrounds and through everyday adventures. By creating inclusive spaces where every child feels welcome, we can help to build happier, healthier and more connected communities – a focus of our work in place with Sport England .

Thank you to everyone who makes playing possible for our young people, giving them the freedom to laugh, explore and thrive 💚
