On Thursday evening, officers from the Truro Neighbourhood Team, supported by the Truro Special Constabulary, located and seized a Surron style electric bike in the Tregurra area of Truro.

We had received a number of reports and concerns regarding this illegal electric bike and the manner in which it was being ridden in and around Truro, including activations of speed enforcement cameras.

The rider was issued with a Section 59 warning notice, and the bike was seized as it was being used without insurance and the rider did not hold the appropriate licence.

Please remember that privately owned e-scooters and Suron style electric bikes cannot legally be used on public roads, pavements or other public spaces. Vehicles being used unlawfully may be seized by police, and riders can be reported for offences which may result in penalty points, fines, and other enforcement action.

A residential property in Truro has become a no-go zone following a full closure order granted by local magistrates. No one is allowed to enter the home at Whitley Close, Truro following incidents of anti-social, threatening and nuisance behaviour.

The property has been fully boarded up and secured. Thanks to everyone who contributed to achieving this positive outcome for the community.

It took relentless work and dedication of all those involved including our neighbourhood team.

We would particularly like to acknowledge the significant efforts of the local Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) Officer Stephen Lennon and Cornwall Housing officers, whose ongoing support and commitment have been instrumental in securing this result.

The order now runs as a full closure for three months with total restrictions from 2 September 2026. Anyone breaching the order is committing a criminal offence and can expect to find themselves at court.

🚨Good news alert 🚨

People of Truro, you may well remember a sad looking dog walking the streets of the city earlier this summer.

This was brought to the attention of our officers and shared widely on social media, and as a result we utilised rules to seize the dog.

The dog's owner was remanded into custody in connection to offences unrelated to the dog, and while he was inside we took legal ownership of the dog.

The shar pei cross has since undergone surgery at local vets and been signed over to the RSPCA.

The pooch has now been moved out of county and is ready to be rehomed and start a happier chapter in its life.

A quantity of what is believed to be Class A and Class B drugs were seized yesterday and two arrests made following a police operation in Tresillian. The Misuse of Drugs Act warrants were executed with our local Truro Neighbourhood Police Team taking action to support the community. We visited two properties in Tresillian and searched a third property as a result of enquiries at the scene. The man and woman arrested have since been released on bail pending further enquiries.

Neighbourhood Team Leader, Sergeant Dave Pearce, said: “Drugs can cause so much harm in our communities, so it’s positive that we’ve been able to remove suspected illegal substances from the streets. We would like to thank the local community for supporting our local officers and we would encourage anyone with concerns around drug supply in their area to report the Force website or via Crimestoppers. No matter how small you may think your information is, it might just be the bit of evidence we need to secure a warrant and make arrests.”
