GRT Month

This World Gypsy, Roma and Traveller History Month, weโ€™re celebrating the strength, culture and voices of Romany Gypsy, Roma and Irish Traveller communities.

This quote reflects one personโ€™s lived experience shared in Gypsies, Roma and Travellers by Declan Henry โ€“ a book rooted in listening, respect and real stories.

โ€œRomany families have lived, worked and raised children in Kent for generations - passing down values like loyalty, hard work and looking after your community.โ€

Kent Family Hub proudly welcome Gypsy, Roma and Traveller families and offer free support with:

๐ŸŒŸ Volunteersโ€™ Week at Kent Family Hub ๐ŸŒŸ

This week, weโ€™re shining a spotlight on the incredible volunteers who make a real difference to families across Kent ๐Ÿ’›

From welcoming families into our spaces, to supporting activities, sharing their skills, and offering a friendly face at just the right moment โ€“ our volunteers are at the heart of everything we do. Their kindness, time and dedication help create warm, supportive environments where children, young people and parents can thrive.

๐Ÿ‘ Whether itโ€™s helping run sessions, supporting events, or working behind the scenes, every contribution matters โ€“ and together, they help us build stronger communities.

๐Ÿ’ฌ To all our volunteers: thank you. Your impact reaches further than you know, and we couldn't do it without you.
