This summer we've been benefitting greatly from the help of Helen Taylor, who has been visiting the Institute once a week to digitise the 2006 Formartine Oral History Project. Helen was a fieldworker on the project, interviewing the likes of Stanley Robertson, Robert Lovie, and Catherine Young near her home in Fyvie. Helen's help will ensure that these valuable recordings are available to visitors to the archives in the future. Many thanks, Helen!

Helen is involved with many organisations, including Aberdeen & North-East Scotland Family History Society, Fyvie Heritage, and Woodhead and Windyhills Community Trust.

The boardwalks were created and placed on the very boggy peaty areas at Woodhead Wood about twenty years ago. Now the bogs have dried out, birch trees are sucking the moisture from the soil and are now replacing the heather moorland. Its all changing over a very short time period.
