Enjoy your BBQs safely this bank holiday🔥

As the weather warms up, we see more outdoor cooking – but BBQs can quickly become dangerous if not used carefully.

Keep them well away from fences, sheds and buildings, never leave them unattended, and make sure they’re fully cooled before disposing of - including coals.

Let’s keep the good times going and prevent fires before they start ✅

Last night’s drill saw the crew head down to Bevercotes Pit to carry out open water pumping exercises using the major pump alongside the off-road wildfire unit. It was a good opportunity to put the kit through its paces and sharpen up our water relay and rural firefighting capabilities. 🚒🚒T13P1 & T13Z1🚒🚒

Last night’s drill night we welcomed the Tuxford Scout Group down to station. The visit started with a fire safety brief, followed by the opportunity to observe the crew in action on drill.

We ran through a road traffic collision (RTC) scenario and a composite drill, which included pitching and working the 13.5m ladder, committing a firefighter at height, and getting the major pump into operation.

It is with great sadness we report the passing of Mac Rhodes who was sub officer at tuxford for many years.mac retired from the service 30 years ago after a long career serving the community of tuxford our thoughts go out to his family and friends RIP Mac.
