𝐆𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐇𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐤 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐲 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐒𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐫 𝐇𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐲𝐬🏖️☀️

Our Greensmile Grounds Team were hard at work on Tuesday shifting 𝟑 𝐭𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐬 of play sand and 𝟕 𝐭𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐬 of woodchip into the play area of Hunter Park. Strong work fellas! 💪💪

We also say big thanks 👏👏👏 to Alfred Homes who kindly stored our 10 tonnes of stuff on their site before our team transferred it up to Hunter Park.

Southern Water have announced that a Temporary Use Ban will be introduced into parts of Hampshire, including Twyford, from Friday 10th July.

They are asking customers to stop using hosepipes for activities such as watering gardens, filling paddling pools or washing cars. The restrictions will be enforceable from 10th July.

𝐁𝐞𝐫𝐫𝐲 𝐌𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐨𝐰

The Parish Council is aware of a small traveller encampment which arrived at Berry Meadow yesterday evening.

Representatives of the Parish Council and the Police have visited the site and spoken with the visitors.

The Parish Council has now commenced the necessary legal process to remove the unauthorised visitors from the site.

In the meantime, the Police will be carrying out regular patrols throughout the day and night. They are also aware that the lock area is likely to be particularly busy this weekend with the forecast of good weather.

Wi******er City Council are hosting a drop-in event at

Colden Common Community Centre
Tuesday, 16th June from 1pm to 5pm.


The regeneration site includes:-

Kings Walk
Friarsgate
and the bus station.


At the event, a series of display boards, including artist impressions, will give residents a chance to learn what happens next, provide feedback on the plans, and meet members of the project team.

𝐓𝐖𝐘𝐅𝐎𝐑𝐃 𝐀𝐍𝐍𝐔𝐀𝐋 𝐏𝐀𝐑𝐈𝐒𝐇 𝐀𝐒𝐒𝐄𝐌𝐁𝐋𝐘

𝐍𝐨 𝐢𝐭'𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐚 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐥 𝐦𝐞𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠! It is an annual meeting of the community, to which all residents of the Parish of Twyford are warmly invited to attend, meet their councillors and learn more about projects in the village.

Refreshments will be available. There will be a mini exhibition with displays on some community projects, including the 𝐅𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐌𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐠𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐦𝐞, new 𝐯𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐜𝐚𝐫 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐤 and 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐩𝐞𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐜𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 on High Street.

Councillors will be available to meet and chat with you and answer any questions.

At this year's meeting, there will be a short formal part with Chris Mitchell giving an update on the work of the Parish Council over the past year and the Parish Clerk will present an update on the reorganisation of Local Government in Hampshire and what it means for Twyford and Wi******er.

𝐂𝐚𝐩𝐲𝐛𝐚𝐫𝐚 𝐄𝐬𝐜𝐚𝐩𝐞 - 𝐇𝐞𝐥𝐩 𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐚𝐦𝐛𝐚

Marwell Wildlife (Marwell Zoo) are continuing the search for a Capybara, called Samba, which escaped the site last Tuesday.

Yesterday, Sunday, there was a sighting of the Capybara by the Itchen between Twyford and Brambridge Garden Centre.

Search teams are still looking for Samba and urgently need your help as they continue to investigate.

If you are nearby and believe you’ve seen Samba, please send a photo and exact location to 07436 167401.

Please do not approach Samba. Although she is not dangerous she could be stressed.
