⚜️OPEN DAYS AT NUTLEY WINDMILL THIS MONTH⚜️
This coming weekend, 9th & 10th May, is National Mills Weekend, when many watermills and windmills across the UK and beyond, open to celebrate milling history.
At Nutley Windmill, the mill will be open on both days from 2:30pm to 5:30pm, although it may open earlier, from around 11am.
The same weekend is also “Mills on the Air”, an event where many mills operate amateur radio stations. The aim is for amateur radio operators to contact as many participating mills as possible.
At Nutley Windmill we are pleased to welcome the West Kent Amateur Radio Society, who will be taking part using the special event callsign GB2NW. If you are an amateur radio operator, please listen out for them.
As this is a special amateur radio event, non-amateur radio operators may also have the opportunity to have a go on the airwaves.
So why not come along to Nutley Windmill and join in the experience? Meet the radio operators, find out how many mills they have contacted across the UK and overseas, and enjoy a tour of the mill — one of only five open trestle post mills remaining in the country.
Both groups will be delighted to talk to you and we look forward to welcoming visitors over the weekend.
