The start of another week for our Home Helps and their lovely clients. There will definitely be coffee and cake ( just like the lovely Victoria sandwich cake one client enjoyed from Brizzolaris a few days ago. 🍰 )

There will also be lots of moments that can’t be documented with a photograph. We will reassure clients, reminisce with them, encourage clients when they have lost confidence or motivation. 😊

We will attend appointments with clients, go for walks, go shopping and ensure clients can choose their favourite items from their preferred shops. 🛒 🚶‍♀️ 🍌 🍞 🥧

At home, we will help with practical tasks, especially those tasks that have become challenging for our clients. Laundry, vacuuming, putting the bins out, making the beds, cleaning the fridge . All these tasks can help our clients homes remain manageable for them 🛌 🧹 🧺 🗑️

We get to know our clients, and their families. We have a wealth of experience and can highlight concerns and signpost clients and their families to appropriate services. 📋 Our clients each have their own, named Home Help. 🌞

Our focus is on supporting clients to remain in their own homes, whilst retaining as much independence as possible, and enjoying life, with a little help from The Lakeland Home Help Company😊 🏡

We are listed on the Age UK South Cumbria register of local services. We offer Companionship, Practical Help at Home, Support to get out and about, including attending important appointments, and so much more. The Lakeland Home Help Company

Our clients have their own, named, Home Help, so develop a trusted relationship, and feel reassured as they get to know their Home Help.

We encourage our clients to apply for Attendance Allowance, and this can be used to pay for Home Help Services. We often signpost clients to Age UK for support with this application.

Creative activities with our clients The Lakeland Home Help Company.

Creativity can enhance wellbeing and provide an opportunity to communicate feelings. We often post about outings with clients and sometimes overlook sharing other aspects of our Home Help services. We encourage and suppport clients to be creative, whether through writing, craft, music, art, playfulness,or dance.

One client recently enjoyed making some lovely prints using gel plates with our wonderful Home Help,Lex Blakeway.

They had a lovely afternoon and produced some beautiful prints

Getting outdoors with our clients is beneficial for their overall wellbeing. One home help recently accompanied a client on a walk in Ford Park, Ulverston. They had a lovely time, enjoying their surroundings on a beautiful day.
