East Leeds Project

East Leeds Project The East Leeds Project is a not for profit, Community Interest Company, focusing on contemporary art

The East Leeds Project is a creative conversation about what life is like in the east of the city, and how it might develop into the future, questioning ideas around community, identity, sustainability, and participation. The project focuses on the corridor of green and blue space following the Wyke Beck route between Roundhay and Rothwell, linking these as one space for artistic exploration. The

East Leeds Project intends to respond to deep-seated social challenges and the disconnect between communities on the fringes and the burgeoning city centre. The Wyke Beck route is a wonderful asset that could enhance the lives of residents in some of the most deprived areas of the city, such as Gipton, Harehills, Seacroft and Cross Gates.

Our Hop Into Easter event was really successful!

Many came for the Easter Egg Hunt and stayed for the food and art.

Thanks to Season Well Food, all the volunteers at , Hamwattan, Emma Dobson and the team, Nat and her team at We Belong Here, the artist Jo Knowles and the fabulous Sinead O’Reilly. We had a real sense of community, plenty of fun, family-friendly activities, a great variety of healthy, culturally diverse food—and of course, the sun shone gloriously.

A perfect start to the bank holiday weekend ✨
