The little library with a lot of heart
In 2015 a campaign was started by a group of enterprising people who formed the North Harrow Library Trust. With the community and local interests at heart of their campaign they rallied support, posted a petition and lobbied the local council. Their mission, to not just re-open the library, but to create a community hub. A place where everyone was welcome to enjoy social events, community events, and of course reading. In just three years, with a lot of support, a well crafted business idea, and some hard campaigning, the North Harrow Community Library finally opened its doors on 25th September 2018. The library is now manned by generous volunteers and funded solely by donations and local support. The library needs £25,000 a year to run successfully, and is relying on generous donations, revenue, and committed gifts from the community.
