October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Finding breast cancer early makes it much more treatable. We encourage everyone to be breast aware by regularly checking for any changes and contacting their GP if they notice anything unusual.

All women aged 50 up to their 71st birthday are invited for free NHS breast screening. Breast screening can detect cancer early, often before symptoms develop, when treatment is most effective.

A monumental living portrait of Salford and its people created by award-winning visual artist and filmmaker Matthew Rosier. The video artwork features over 1500 Salfordians and will be projected at scale onto the University of Salford’s Maxwell Building.

The video installation will be accompanied by a live score celebrating the city’s rich musical heritage, featuring local choirs and brass bands, arranged by Michael Betteridge, with music direction by Salford-based composer and DJ, AFRODEUTSCHE. Each show will be a combination of the projection-mapped video, DJ soundtrack, live music from Eccles Borough Band & Pendleton Sixth Form Choir, spoken word from poet Lynn Walton, and the voice & poems of Rob Dunford.

This artwork will only be shown for 2 nights only, don't miss out!
