Even though we have experienced some sort of phenomena coming out of the sky over the last 24 hours. ☔️🌧️, please continue to observe that the land is still very much susceptible to wildfires and is still very dry.

Everyone heading to the Sunshine Festival (Upton) 2026, we wish you a safe and enjoyable festival. Please avoid using disposable BBQ’s where possible and observe the general camping rules set not only by the Festival itself but also safety advice provided below:

We are available all weekend, so will be on hand if required! If you need any assistance please locate the nearest Steward or Festival Staff member.

Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service Fire Control are the unsung heroes.

They are dealing with all the pressures of the incidents going on within and across the borders with Amazing professionalism and dedicating resources and sourcing additional resources from other services!

Fire Control ❤️ They are the first point of contact and dedicate resources where they can.
A Jigsaw puzzle when pieces don’t fit, they make it slot into place!

🚒 Another reminder of just how quickly things can escalate in these conditions.

We’ve just returned from an open fire in Berrow, which started while a tractor was mowing grass. The fire quickly spread, even jumping across the road into another field of standing grass.

Thankfully, crews were able to get on top of it before it could spread any further, with assistance from neighbouring appliances from Ledbury, Pershore, Evesham, Worcester and Ross-on-Wye. 👨‍🚒🔥

A huge thank you also goes to a local tractor operator who assisted by creating fire breaks, helping to prevent the fire from spreading further. 🚜👏

A government emergency message has also been sent to mobile phones. There’s no need to be alarmed, but please take it seriously and remain sensible and vigilant about your surroundings.

With conditions as dry as they are, one spark can quickly turn into a significant fire. Machinery operating in dry grass can create sparks and heat capable of starting fires, so please take extra care.

Stay safe, stay alert and help us prevent these fires before they start. 🚒🔥

Today has continued to prove to be a very busy period for Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service, we alone were mobilised this morning at around 07:45 to standby duties at Evesham, we were then mobilised to reports of a fire in the Open in Beckford, following on from that we were mobilised to standby duties to Fownhope in Herefordshire, en route we were mobilised to reports of a fire in the open in Pendock, we then carried onto Fownhope.
We were then returned to Upton for standby duties, not far from station and we then were mobilised to reports of a caravan fire on the M5.

We then returned to station for standby, however were stood down.

The crew then replenished consumables used through the morning ready for the next mobilisation.
