We stand unequivocally with the Jewish community against hate and in the hope of the return of all of the hostages held in Gaza, and for a just and lasting peace.

We, in Wirral, stand in full solidarity with the people of Manchester following the horrific and reprehensible attack at Heaton Park Synagogue.

Our thoughts are with those who have lost their lives, those injured, their families, and the entire Jewish community during this darkest of moments and we commend the swift response of emergency services.

I would echo the words of Manchester City Council's leader Cllr Bev Craig who said: “Manchester stands with our Jewish community… and will come together as a city.” and be clear that now more than ever we must come together as communities — united in compassion, resilience, and a shared commitment to stand against hate in all its forms.
