This morning our Year 11 students arrived to collect their GCSE results, and what a moment it was. We are absolutely delighted with the achievements of the Class of 2026. Every single student should feel proud of the hard work, commitment and determination they’ve shown over the past two years.

As they head off towards new adventures, we know they will continue to shine in whatever they put their minds to.

Last week we hosted our annual Rewards & Recognition Evening, celebrating the incredible achievements our boys have worked so hard for throughout the year. It was a truly wonderful event filled with pride and well‑deserved recognition.

Our boys received awards across a range of accomplishments, showcasing their dedication, resilience, and commitment both in and out of the classroom. The atmosphere was fantastic, families, staff, and students coming together to celebrate success and shine a spotlight on everything they’ve achieved.

A massive well done to Oliver, who is currently competing in the North West Indoor Karting Championship. Despite being only 11 years old, the youngest and smallest racer on the grid, he’s holding his own against competitors aged 12–16.
After three rounds, Oliver is sitting an incredible 3rd out of 20 on the leader board. Last month he even won Round 2 and was awarded Driver of the Day.
A brilliant achievement and a testament to his skill, focus and determination.

Yesterday was a brilliant day here at Wellacre. In the morning, our boys took part in Sports Day, giving their all across every event with determination, teamwork and plenty of smiles.

The afternoon brought a burst of energy as we moved into our House Competitions. From start to finish, every student got involved, cheering, supporting and representing their house with real pride. The atmosphere was incredible, and the encouragement between teams showed exactly what makes our community so special.

Well done to every pupil who took part, and to all those who were outstanding supporters throughout the day. You made it a truly memorable event.

A brilliant end‑of‑year finish for our iDEA achievers!

Ethan (Y7) and Jonas (Y9) have earned their BRONZE iDEA awards, rounding off the year with determination and digital skill‑building that really stands out.

And a huge well done to Tito (Y8), who has gone one step further and completed his SILVER iDEA award, a fantastic milestone that shows real commitment and curiosity.

The iDEA programme empowers students to grow future‑ready digital and enterprise skills through engaging badge modules in areas like cyber security, cloud computing, animation, and more. These three have finished the year on a high.

A fantastic entry from George in Year 7, who’s taken his pasta‑making skills from a course in Florence and turned them into a delicious papardelle with ragu sauce, incredible work and brilliant technique.

He didn’t stop there. George also made a strawberry, mango and apple smoothie, cleverly linking the colours to either the Netherlands kit or the Spanish flag.
Such thoughtful creativity and a brilliant effort all round. Well done, George!
