Update on resurfacing works A472 - phase 3

The plaining works are being undertaken today 28/7 from Cae Melin to Glascoed Lane and the road is closed completely along this stretch from 9:30 to 3:30.

***A472 resurfacing day 6/17 with an important update for Friday 24th July ***

Day 2 of phase 2 is proceeding as planned and Welsh Water have repaired the leak and replaced the longstanding broken ironwork.

C270 tonnes of tarmac are planned to be laid on Friday. This is considered a demanding schedule especially during the extended hot weather which is delaying the curing of the tarmac.

So - a decision has been made to get a head start on the resurfacing at 8:30am (1hr earlier) on Friday morning with the assistance of traffic lights for one side of the road from Cae Melin to Millbrook Court.

the road will therefore be partially open prior to full closure as planned at 9:30am.

Please expect delays between 8-30 and 9-30 and drive slowly through the works.

Your patience to protect the workers will be appreciated.
