Verwood Town Council Verwood Town Council is the elected town council of Verwood and Three Legged Cross in Dorset.

Verwood Town Council consists of eighteen members representing the Civil Parish. There are four wards in the Civil Parish: Dewlands South Ward (eight councillors), Dewlands North Ward (two councillors), Stephen's Castle Ward (seven councillors) and Three Legged Cross Ward (one councillor)
As a Council they meet eleven times a year. The Council operates with a number of sub-committees who each repo

rt to the full Council. These include the Finance and General Purposes Committee, the Planning Consultative Committee and the Amenities Committee.

A31 opening tomorrow (time to be announced).
Drivers will face reduced speed limits when the road reopens, with a 40mph limit on the eastbound carriageway and 50mph westbound.

National Highways will soon be carrying out lighting renewals on the A31 at Merley roundabout.

To carry out these works safely, there will be overnight temporary traffic lights on all approaching roads leading to the A31 Merley roundabout. Working times will be Monday – Friday for 10 consecutive weeks.
Please note Monday – Thursday working times will be 9pm – 6am, Friday working times will be 10pm – 6am.

There seems to be a large gas leak on the Verwood Road where SGN have been working and they’ve had to close the road while it is sorted. Traffic management is being put up and diversion signs but it’s all happening very quickly. I’ll try and update. But the road is closed for the foreseeable.

Far from ideal with all of the other issues on other roads but I’ve asked for regular updates.
