Best Kept Village Competition
Unfortunately, we didn't quite make it this year. Congratulations to Steeple Claydon, who took first place, beating us by just 4 points. A huge thank you to everyone who helped in any way - your efforts make Waddesdon a wonderful place to live and are appreciated throughout the year, not just during the competition. Although we didn't bring home the trophy this time, we can all be proud of our village.

Exciting news! Work is about to begin on a brand-new skatepark at School Lane.

We are delighted to announce that, thanks to a grant from HS2, Waddesdon Parish Council will be replacing the existing ageing skatepark with a new, modern facility for the community to enjoy.

Work is scheduled to commence on Monday 17 August and is expected to take approximately two months to complete.

During this period, the skatepark will be fenced off and inaccessible while the works are carried out. The remainder of the park will remain open as normal, although we ask visitors to please take care and be mindful of the construction activity in the area.

We would like to thank HS2 for their generous support in making this exciting project possible. We look forward to unveiling the new facility later this year and providing a safer, more modern space for local young people to enjoy.

Unfortunately, we continue to experience incidents of anti-social behaviour at the Waddesdon Community Centre.

Over the past week, individuals have been climbing onto the Parish Council's storage containers, creating a significant risk to their own safety, and damage has also been caused to football equipment used by Aylesbury United Football Club.

We are also aware that some dog walkers and allotment users are feeling intimidated by the large groups gathering during the evenings and are choosing to avoid the area. Our Community Centre and playing fields are there for everyone to enjoy, and nobody should feel uncomfortable using these facilities.

The Parish Council is working with Thames Valley Police and has reported the recent incidents. We have asked for additional evening patrols where possible.

If you witness anti-social behaviour, please report it directly to Thames Valley Police. The more information they receive, the better they can target their patrols. If there is an immediate risk to people or property, please call 999. For non-emergencies, report online or call 101.

Thank you to everyone who has already reported incidents and continues to help keep our community safe.
