Michelle Edwards. Simon Brophy. Neil Mayman. The Reform Team for Denby Dale Ward.
NEIL MAYMAN - Engineer. Carer. Kirklees born and raised.
I've lived in Kirklees all my life. I spent my career as a multi-skilled maintenance engineer, keeping Britain's biggest food and drink factories running — fixing problems, solving things, getting the job done.
Now retired from engineering, I work part-time as a carer in our local Reablement team, helping people get back on their feet at home.
Part-time work means full-time commitment to you. I've got the time, the experience, and the local roots to give Denby Dale the councillor it deserves. Thursday 7th May. Your vote. My commitment
SIMON BROPHY - Local roots. Business sense. Time to do the job properly.
I've lived across our ward — Denby Dale, Scissett, and now Clayton West. I know our villages because I've been part of them.
I've run a local business. I've supported local charities. I've spent my career in retail management and customer service — listening to people, solving problems, and making the numbers add up. I bring a strong financial background to a council that needs to spend every pound wisely.
I'm now able to commit full time to our community and to Kirklees. I would really appreciate your vote on 7th May.
MICHELLE EDWARDS Over 30 years of getting things done with positive outcomes. Now it's time to do the same for Denby Dale Ward. I have already provided information about me in my previous post - I mentioned beng a carer - I forgot to mention I am one of those unpaid carers shoring up the health service
Clayton West is my home, and Denby Dale Ward is where I want to put my experience to work. I've spent over three decades in roles where other people came first — in healthcare, adult social care, public health, and education.
I've managed major contracts and tight budgets. I've turned failing services around. I've held organisations to account when they've fallen short. I've experienced life in uniformed services, volunteered overseas in Romania and Cyprus, and answered 999 calls as a Yorkshire Community First Responder.
I've been stepping back from my work in education to give Denby Dale the time and attention it deserves. Look, I don't make promises I can't keep. But I'll make things work. That's what I’m asking you to vote for on 7th May
We are asking for your help. Like many of you, we have become increasingly concerned and frustrated with the direction our community is headed. In the coming days, you have a chance to send Denby Dale and Kirklees in a new positive direction.
The finances of Labour-run Kirklees Council are a mess. The CEO is paid £176,000 per year, £4,000 more than the Prime Minister. £560,000 spent on debt interest payments every single week. £527,000 spent on translation services for those who refuse to integrate.
We will fight locally to -
Ensure your best interests are served at the council and be a strong local voice for you.
Ensure value for money in our council and stop rip-off charges from private contractors and agencies. This means not waiting to find out where the money has gone – let's make sure it doesn’t just go in the first place.
Protect our local healthcare services and ensure they are more accessible and efficient.
We're asking you to lend your vote to Reform UK, so we can stand up for the Denby Dale Ward and fight for real change on your behalf. It is time to put the people in this community first. In this election, you have a voice. Help us build something better for Kirklees.
