Hope everybody has had a great summer. We are really looking forward to another great year of music making and starting up lessons, classes and ensembles again this term. Here’s a few details below.

MANYGATES MUSIC CENTRE: WMS Manygates Music Centre
WYJO, WYTO, WYO commence Friday 4 September with Friday 1 to 1 lessons starting the following Friday 11 Sept. All other 1 to 1 lessons at Manygates commence from Monday 7 Sept
Wednesday evening Ensemble and Music Centre activies kick off on 9 Sept.

HEMSWORTH MUSIC CENTRE: WMS Hemsworth Music Centre
Ensembles and lessons start 5 September

HORBURY MUSIC CENTRE: WMS Horbury Music Centre
Ensembles start on the 5 Sept.

INSTRUMENTAL LESSONS IN SCHOOLS: Some lessons may commence on Friday 4 Sept with the majority starting on week commencing 7 September.

🪘 Join us for 'Read to the Beat', an amazing percussion drumming session!

This fun practical session will explore the magical connection between words and music through African drumming, hip-hop, and rap.

So, play those drums, move your feet, rap those words and 'Read to the Beat'!

WMS IN THE PARK!

Wakefield Music Services invite you to a wonderful afternoon of music at the historic Clarence Park Bandstand, with musicians from across our Hemsworth, Horbury and Manygates Music Centres coming together in a variety of ensembles, from Big Band to Orchestra to Guitar Ensemble!

Join us on Sunday 19th July from 2:30 to 4:30 for a sunny afternoon of music!

It's nearly a week ago since our incredible WMS Summer Concert at Wakefield Cathedral. Every ensemble performed brilliantly. Congratulations to Wakefield Youth Orchestra and Training Orchestra, Horbury MC Guitars, Hemsworth MC Concert Band and Our Voice Choir. Huge thanks to the staff, volunteers and everyone involved.
Time just flies at this busy time of year and we can't wait to be back in the Catherdal on Tuesday 30th June for our Big Sing!

Wakefield Music Services bought even more sunshine to WX in Wakefield on Saturday. Huge thanks to WX for inviting us to perform alongside the Helios exhibition. Manygates Strings, Guitars and Wind Band, WMS Flutes and Horbury MC Ukuleles performed a wonderful programme of hot hits! Great to be joined by the fantastic Singing Foster Carers Choir!
