20 Years of 299...
This weekend, serving soldiers, veterans, families and friends came together to celebrate 20 years since the re-formation of 299 Parachute Squadron Royal Engineers.
The occasion provided an opportunity to reflect on the Squadron's history, recognise its achievements and reconnect with those who have contributed to its success over the past two decades.
Occasions like this are also a reminder of the support provided by families. Army Reserve service requires time away from home for training, exercises, operations and courses, and none of this would be possible without the understanding, patience and encouragement of partners, spouses and families who support us throughout the year. Their contribution is often unseen, but it is no less important.
We were also pleased to be joined by our Honorary Colonel, Al Murray, whose support for the Squadron continues to be greatly appreciated, and Mr Bob Prosser BEM who travelled all the way up north from the Chelsea Hospital in London.
Thank you to everyone who attended and helped make the event a success, including the Royal Engineers Association (REA) and CamCam Productions for their generous support and donations. Here's to the next chapter in the history of 299 Para Sqn RE.
