FIBUA

This weekend, soldiers from 299 Para Sqn RE spent time with their counterparts at 75 Engineer Regiment developing their skills in an urban environment, with training focused on Fighting in Built-Up Areas (FIBUA). The training tested communication, teamwork and the ability to work effectively in a challenging and unfamiliar environment.

Urban operations are a key part of modern military training, and weekends like this give our Reservists the opportunity to put their skills into practice in realistic conditions.

Last week, 299 Para Sqn RE competed in BAWF (British Army Warrior Fitness) Racing at Dale Barracks, hosted by .

Designed as an accessible entry point into British Army Warrior Fitness, the BAWF Racing series brings hybrid fitness into a competitive environment — combining strength, endurance and functional movement to test soldiers across a demanding course.

Congratulations to LCpl B and Spr H on taking first place in the men's category!

Huge congratulations to the Royal Engineers on winning the 2026 Inter Corps Golf Championship, and to Cpl G on a brilliant run to the final at last week's event, held at Saunton Golf Club.

Played over the renowned West Course, the Championship is open to all Corps and Arms bringing together top talent from across the Army for a week of top-class competitive golf on one of the UK's finest links golf courses.

Cpl G fought all the way to the matchplay final, a fantastic result against a strong field of competitors!
Great effort, great golf — well done!
