📍 **PATH IMPROVEMENT UPDATE – WAKEFIELD ROAD ALLOTMENTS**

Following our engagement with Vico Homes, a contractor has been appointed to resurface the section of footpath owned by Vico Homes near the Wakefield Road allotments.

The work is provisionally scheduled for **Wednesday 16 and Thursday 17 September 2026**.

During the work:

✅ The footpath will be temporarily closed
✅ Signs will be installed to notify residents
✅ Nearby Vico Homes customers will receive a text message
✅ Wakefield Council will be notified

Vico Homes has also confirmed that vegetation beside the neighbouring bungalows will be cut back. Once this has been completed, it will consider installing a fence on its land.

**YORKSHIRE WATER: INVESTIGATORY WORKS – COMMON SIDE LANE / NEW ROAD**

Yorkshire Water have informed us that the sewer along **Common Side Lane, WF7 6HD** is showing signs of age and may require replacement.

Before any replacement work takes place, Yorkshire Water will be carrying out investigations to establish the condition of the wastewater pipes and determine the best way to carry out any future works.

📅 **Monday 7 September – Friday 18 September 2026**

The investigation will involve digging **small trial holes off the roundabout on New Road** to inspect the network below ground.

🚧 To allow the work to be completed safely, there will be a **one-way road closure on New Road off the roundabout**, with a signed diversion route in place.

Yorkshire Water have confirmed that:

* No access to residents' properties will be required.
* Wastewater services will **not** be affected.
* The work will be carried out by **Peter Duffy Limited on behalf of Yorkshire Water**.
* They will aim to complete the investigations as quickly as possible and minimise disruption.
